8 Months & 20 Days =)

Exactly 8 months & 20 days ago, it ended!

There will always be two versions of our story. For you, 8 months & 20 days, you walked out of my door. For me, 8 months & 20 days, I closed my door on you.

But the bottom line is that 8 months & 20 days ago, it was over.

I will never forget what happened  8 months & 20 days ago, how your mere reply to my question made me decide to get rid of you and end your chapter in my life -- for good. How I finally realized that I have to save whatever was left of me and the best way was to walk out of our relationship.

It was a slow and painful process. slow and painful, but I managed to crawl back from the pits of sadness. That was my worst heartache, my most painful experience, the times when I would drag myself out of bed and struggle to live one day at a time, when all I did was cry and wallow in misery.

8 months & 20 days after, here i am... wiser. stronger. better. =)

Although I have to admit that there are times when I'd find myself crying because of you. There are times when I'd suddenly remember you and get sentimental. There are times when I'd miss you and long for the moments that we spent together.

But it's normal, I know. You played a major role in my life and I wouldn't be who I am right now if it weren't for you.

Twenty years from now, I will still be remembering you, because whether I like it or not, you will always be a significant person in my life because of what we had.

***
During my senti moments, I'd ask myself, will i ever find someone like you?

someone who would be willing to wait for me so he could take me home -- kapag inaabot ako ng hatinggabi sa mga pinupuntahan kong okasyon or gagabihin sa trabaho ko
someone na makakasama ko kumain either sa buffet sa dad's saisaki or sa lugawan sa Crossing
someone who already knows what i want to order even before i could talk -- adobong pusit plus 2 rice!
someone who can make me laugh, iyong kahit korni, nadadaan sa delivery ng joke
someone na may sense kausap, and i can talk & text with about anything for hours -- na hindi napapansin na umaga na pala
someone who will update me about the latest in teleseryes and Pinoy Big Brother whenever I'd fail to catch the episode
someone na willing laruin ang farmtown ko para kumita ako ng malaki
someone na puwede akong maging vulnerable, uninhibited and unwarranted, where I can be myself and show my imperfections - dandruff, warts and all.
someone who readily gives a hug whenever I need it, or someone who has no qualms sa pagiging sweet kahit maraming tao

someone who has the initiative to ask me to hear mass
someone who would wait for me habang nagpapa-rebond ako

someone na magbibigay ng mga galanteng gifts at kahit naiwala ko ay sasabihin "okay lang un"

and my answer is this -- i will never find someone like you because I will find someone better than you.

that someone will not lie to me...will not make lame excuses to me.
that someone will be faithful, iyong kapag hindi ko katabi ay hindi ako napa-praning kung sino kaya kasama

that someone will be better because he will not hurt me.

***
It has been one year since we last saw each other..

I wish you could see me now. I wish you had an idea what's going on in my life right now. I wish you knew, I am actually living a better life without you.

thank you, AM, for coming into my life. without you, my world would be different.
thank you for all the joys and pains you gave me
thank you for the experiences that we shared
thank you for breaking my heart
thank you for the learning lessons
thank you for making me realize that I deserve more -- in love and in life.

8 months & 20 days na since it ended.
the mourning period is over.

I know you will still be haunting me forever but this would be my first & last blog entry about you...

Goodbye, AM...

Here's our story before the relationship fell apart... ♥

Now, here's the video posted at AM's friendster account...Obviously, that was before he met the other girl... =)

LOVE & MARRIAGE: My Parents' Love Story ♥

I just remembered one of my favorite movies "How to Make An American Quilt"... I forgot the name of the character who said, "Old lovers learn the art of sewing shreds together and of seeing beauty in the multiplicity of patches."

1980

My parents have been married for 32 years now going 33! My father had to work overseas just to give us a better life to enjoy and live with. Mama had to endure being away from Papa and raise her children alone. However despite the difficulties involve in their long distance relationship, nothing changes, as they manage to cope up with the situation. There was one important thing that remained the same~ unconditional love for each other.

They have a mutual respect for each other's individuality. Papa sees Mama as an individual. She sees him as Pol, his own person, other than being her husband and father of her children. I see sincere love and affection my parents have for each other. They draw strength from each other. I count myself as lucky to having been able to witness a love story such as theirs. :=)

Without intention, I have just totally related my parent's marriage to a movie character's line. My parent's marriage is not perfect nor is it ideal but it is something that I wish couples that I know would be blessed with, including myself and my siblings, when the time comes. ♥

MHCP-Korean Medical Mission: Indeed a Wonderful Experience!

Jesus Christ told His disciples, "Whatever you do to the least of my brethren, you do it unto me." (Matthew 25:40)

Three weeks ago, my friend Raizel sent me a text message. She told me that Mary Help of Christian Sisters were looking for volunteers to work alongside Korean medical missionaries. Since I am still waiting for my working visa then, I agreed to be part of the medical mission. Being a self-confessed Koreanovela fanatic, I became super dooper excited! No further convincing needed! hahaha :)

Volunteers will serve as translators to patient-to-doctor & doctor-to-patient as well. As my would-be role is about to begin, I suddenly felt very nervous. Let's just say, nervous to experience profuse nose-bleeding. English-an teh! :)

Day 1: I am just a keen observer. My co-volunteers were initially given the task of translation. Needless to say, I felt a sense of relief! Woohooo!

Go Ate Jing! D2 lang kami ni Donna para umalalay sayo...hihihi

Yun oh! Daming pasyente...asa gilid ako, patingin tingin lang! :)
Day 2: I was not able to attend medical mission. I suffered with terrible cramping & loose bowel movement. Argghhhh...:(

Day 3:  I was assigned to Cubicle #4, to work alongside Dr. Lee (Dermatologist/Gynecologist/Pathologist), a well-mannered doctor who never fails to smile. I did ask questions about his personal life & he gamely answered all of it. Instantly, he became my favorite doctor in the medical mission.

ako po ung nakatalikod...look at my hair! dry na teh! hihi

Day 4: I was more at ease, working hand-in-hand with Mirinae, a Korean medical student who is soft-spoken & good in English language. At the Assessment area, taking every patient's history is quite a task. Here are some of the questions...

Onset: chief complaint + location
Persistence: how long these complaints last?
Quality: of pain
Radiation: does the pain radiate?
Restrictions: does the pain stop you from doing any of your normal activities?
Severity:  scale 1-10, 10 being the most severe

...and the list goes on and on! :)

weh? seryoso...hehehe
Day 5: For the second time around, I was not able to attend medical mission; had something to do with heavy rain. My mother advised me not to go because of an upcoming typhoon. Being an obedient daughter, I followed her advice. As they say, "Mother knows best!"

Day 6: I was allocated to Cubicle #2 to work with Dr. Kim (Cardiologist/Surgeon/Professor), a hardworking doctor devoted to his patients. I admire him for his work ethic.

Doc Kim, picture picture muna!
Day 7 (Last day): I was assigned to work with Laboratory peeps~ Yoo Rin & Dawa! At first, I thought they were both serious Korean students. I rarely see them smile as they examine different samples of blood & urine. After an hour, I got a chance to talk to Yoo Rin. We talked about her country, love life & chosen course. She is a wonderful person and a kindred spirit. When she smiles, she could light up a room. It's true that you can't judge a book by its cover. You have to take time reading its contents. :)

Everything has come to an end after a week-long medical & spiritual mission. Nothing lasts forever.

Different races...Shared Culture...New Friends...Lessons Learned... ♥

We all work together towards a common goal ~ to help less fortunate people solve their health care needs.

A wonderful experience, indeed! I will miss you, guys! Mwuaaaaaaah *-:

Dr. Lee... wonderful doctor! :)

In this life, we cannot always do great things...but we can do small things with great LOVE. ~ Mother Theresa

Wonderful Song: Note to God

NOTE TO GOD
by: Charice Pempengco

If I wrote a note to God
I would speak whats in my soul
I'd ask for all the hate to be swept away,
For love to overflow
If I wrote a note to God
I'd pour my heart out on each page
I'd ask for war to end
For peace to mend this world
I'd say, I'd say, I'd say

Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love cause love is over due
And it looks like we haven't got a clue
Need some help from you
Grant us the faith to carry on
Give us hope when it seems all hope is gone
Cause it seems like so much is goin wrong
On this road we're on

If I wrote a note to God
I would say what on my mind
I'd ask for wisdom to let compassion rule this world
Until these times
If I wrote a note to God
I'd say please help us find our way
End all the bitterness, put some tenderness in our hearts
And I'd say, I'd say, I'd say

Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love cause love is over due
And it looks like we haven't got a clue
Need some help from you
Grant us the faith to carry on
Give us hope when it seems all hope is gone
Cause it seems like so much is goin wrong
On this road we're on

No, no no no
We can't do this on our own
So, So

Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love cause love is over due
And it looks like we haven't got a clue
Need some help from you
Grant us the faith to carry on
Give us hope when it seems all hope is gone
Cause it seems like so much is goin wrong
On this road we're on

....beautifully written! ♥

Green Apple is tantamount to the word "newbie"  And now, I am a green apple...a blogging newbie! I personally find writing about my feelings extremely therapeutic. ♥
