Fruit Salad with Buko... Yummy!!! :o)

I just prepared a fruit salad with buko for media noche later...served with love and happiness... Mwuaaaah :o)

Fruit Salad with Buko

Ingredients:

5 large cans of Del Monte Fruit Cocktail
Grated Coconut meat from 10 buko (young coconut)
2 cans lychees
1 small bottle nata de coco (green)
1 small bottle nata de coco (red)
1 small bottle kaong (green)
1/4 kilo seedless grapes
3 small apples , cubed
1/4 kilo seedless grapes
1 can condensed milk
2 packs Nestle Cream
1 can peaches for topping
few red or green cherries for topping

Procedure:

1. Drain the fruits from the can for at least 2 hours. This is to prevent a soggy fruit salad.
2. When all the juices have been drained, mix all the fruits together in a bowl.
3. Add the condensed milk and cream till well blended.
4. Transfer to serving bowls and top with peaches and cherries.
5. Freeze or Refrigerate properly. (Buko spoils if not refrigerated or frozen. I prefer to freeze the rest of the buko salad if it isn’t eaten within the day.)

Four-In-A-Row...

I visited four hospitals today. The four hospitals include Philippine General Hospital, Manila Doctors Hospital, Ospital ng Maynila and Manila Adventist Medical Center. KKK talaga! Kalurki...Kapagod...Kahirap... Whew!

Originally, I was scheduled to undergo ultrasound-biopsy procedure at Philippine General Hospital. But the laboratory department's slicing machine which is vital for histopathology research has not been fixed yet. =(

I have to admit that luck is not on my side today. I haven't found a competent hospital that can perform the procedure in the earliest time possible. =(

Don't lose hope, Jha!

Keeping in Touch...

“Good friends are like stars.... You don't always see them, but you know they are always there”

Early morning, I was awakened by a call and the mobile number wasn't even included in one of my phone contacts. As it turned out, the call came from my friend, Dothy, who just recently got hired as Reliability Tech in First Sumiden. =)

She thought I was already working in Saudi Arabia. Yesterday, she stumbled upon my Facebook account while browsing her list of friends. She saw snippet of conversations I had with some of my Facebook friends. It was at that time she realized I am still here in the Philippines. We talked about a lot of things about life, work and love. It seems that an hour of conversation over the phone could not compensate for the length of time we have not spent together. =(

Oh my, I missed my friends way back in my Sumiden days. It is so nice to keep in touch with them once in a while. Sarap alalahanin ng walang katapusang kadramahan, kalokohan at katatawanan ng bawat isa sa barkadahan... =)

Taiwanese Drama: FATED TO LOVE YOU

After a month of watching Korean series endlessly, I am now back into Taiwanese series. ^_^

Fated to Love You is definitely one of the best Taiwanese dramas I've ever seen.

A really unfashionable working class girl Chen Xin Yi has the desire to tie down her handsome boyfriend to be with her. Due to certain reasons, her boyfriend gets her to go on a love cruise and she started to ponder on how to lose her virginity and tie down her boyfriend. Xin Yi ended up taking cold medicine which made her drowsy and went into Ji Cun Xi's room. Cun Xi is the sole male heir to his family's company and has been in love with his girlfriend, Anna, for a long time. He planned to propose to Anna on the boat but she didn't turn up on the cruise. An island owner added drugs into Cun Xi's drink and Cun Xi became disorientated and returned to his own room. Xin Yi and Cun Xi end up having a one night stand. Xin Yi later finds out that she's pregnant and Cun Xi's grandmother forces them to get married. Will a couple forced to marry for the sake of their unborn child find love with each other?

Tired yet Happy... ♥

I am so tired yet happy with my accomplishments today.

I went to St. Peter Paul medical clinic near United Nations Avenue. I submitted my stool and have my blood drawn for a series of thyroid function test.

Last Monday, Dec. 20, blood was extracted from my right arm for a complete blood test. So, the med tech guy decided to extract from the same area, without asking if it is fine with me. He kept moving the needle in different directions which cause an unbearable pain. I kept my eyes closed and told him to draw blood from my left arm instead. I am glad he followed my suggestion. Whew! What a relief!

Then, I went to renew my NBI clearance at a kiosk located at Victory Mall near Monumento LRT Station. The process took me less than 30 minutes. Yeeeea!

I took the LRT from Monumento to Pedro Gil station and it was fast. First time teh? =) I entered the newly constructed Radiology department at Philippine General Hospital. I inquired about the price of ultrasound guided biopsy. They have provided me all the details which really satisfied me.

I left Manila half-past seven in the evening. I hopped on the bus with a smile on my face. Thank you, Lord, for a fruitful day. And thank you, for keeping me safe from all danger and harm. :o)

Still Hanging On...

google photo
...to a thread of hope that I will be able to pull off a job overseas. =(

I got my thyroid ultrasound result today. The impression is not something I can be happy about right now. The result says, "Thyroid mass as described, bilateral. Suggest clinical/laboratory correlation"

My both lobes (right & left) shows complexes masses measuring 16.2 x 11.2 mm (with cystic component) and 6.7 x 7.1 mm (with calcified rim) in the right while 23.1 x 8.6 mm (with component) and 21.0x 12.1 mm (with cystic component) seen in the left. The isthmus and adjacent vascular structures are intact.

The doctor advised me to undergo an ultrasound-guided biopsy (a very fine, thin needle is inserted into the thyroid, and aspirates cells and/or fluid from a thyroid nodule or mass into the needle guided by an ultrasound procedure) and thyroid function tests (a collective term for blood tests used to check the function of the thyroid) as mentioned in my previous post.

The biopsy result will be ready in 2-3 days. I am worried of the suspicious thyroid nodule which has calcified rim. Sometimes the knowledge of a certain medical condition is quite nerve-wracking. It's scary thinking about it. =(

The best Christmas gift I want to receive is the gift of GOOD HEALTH... ♥

"Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!” (Psalm 27:14)

When you BELIEVE... ♥

This is an awesome song about hanging in there when you're about to lose hope... ♥

If I want something from the bottom of my heart, I will give all that I can give. As long as I keep persisting and believing, I will achieve what I am set out to achieve. ♥

Thyroid Problem...

When I went to St. Peter Paul clinic for a complete medical test, the doctor examined my thyroid and found out that I have a goiter. "To be more accurate, I will subject you to undergo thyroid ultrasound", she said.

Oh no, I feel so worried and stressed after hearing what the doctor said. I think this could jeopardize my job application overseas. I asked the doctor, "What if ultrasound procedure confirms that it is indeed a goiter... Is there a possible way to prove that I am fit to work despite having a thyroid problem?"

The doctor said, "We will advise you to either have your blood taken for a series of thyroid function tests or have an ultrasound-guided biopsy on your thyroid gland. If your thyroid levels fall within the normal range, you are considered medically cleared. But if laboratory results are out of range, I will administer a treatment based on the range of your thyroid hormones."

Hmmmm... I never thought this could happen to me. =(

I just hope and pray that I can surpass all obstacles coming my way... I will let God decide for me. ♥
